We Know Education Because We've Worked in It.

Shine Media Studio isn't a generalist digital agency that added "accessibility" to a list of services. We built this practice specifically for schools and colleges, because we've spent years inside the education sector and understand what makes it different.

We know that communications directors are stretched across admissions, enrollment, advancement, and athletics all at once. We know that web updates often happen in bursts, by people who were never trained on accessibility. And we know that most schools genuinely want to do the right thing, they just need someone to show them what that looks like in practice.

Our Approach

We work like a trusted advisor, not a vendor. That means plain-language reports instead of technical jargon, prioritized recommendations instead of overwhelming checklists, and a working style that fits the pace of your institution.

We believe accessibility is both a legal obligation and a values question. A school that says it's committed to inclusion should have a website that reflects that commitment, for prospective families with disabilities, for students who use screen readers, for alumni who are aging, and for every community member who tries to reach you online.

We use WCAG 2.1 Level AA as our standard, the same benchmark courts apply under ADA Title III for private schools and ADA Title II for public institutions and higher ed. Our audit process combines professional automated scanning tools with manual review, because automated tools alone miss roughly 60–70% of real accessibility issues.

Our Values

Shine Media Studio operates as a small, focused practice. We do not take on more clients than we can serve well, and we do not offer services we cannot deliver with real expertise. Every engagement is scoped individually, priced transparently, and managed with the same attention to detail we bring to the work itself.

We believe accessibility is both a legal obligation and a reflection of institutional values. A school or university that is committed to inclusion should have a website that demonstrates that commitment to every visitor, including those who rely on assistive technology to use it.

We believe content build-out is skilled work that deserves dedicated capacity, not an afterthought handed to a team that is already stretched thin.

And we believe the institutions we work with deserve a partner who understands their world well enough to move work forward without a lot of hand-holding.
